> Anyway, I was going to go watch some contests tonight and was wondering if you wanted to come along. I'll explain what's going on if you need me to. They're a lot of fun!
> Bronte (my Tropius) will come too, so you two can get acquainted, if that's okay
> And if you get bored, you can always read a book haha :)
Johanna looked at the glow of her phone for a little longer wondering if it was a good idea to put her book down but then again socializing wasn't bad right? She was out here to experience the world more and this was part of it!
After a few, she got dressed, wrapped her scarf around and set off to the cafe.
Brendan was already at the cafe. In fact, he'd been there for a bit. He'd started heading there before he'd even received her latest reply. Whether he was eager to nab some coffee or eager to meet her there (assuming she was going) didn't really cross his mind.
So there he sat, outside on the patio next to the coffee shop, poking away at his phone. He was anxious, he knew that much. About something. He figured he'd just get coffee once Johanna had arrived, but zipping in and grabbing some a.s.a.p. was sounding really appealing right then.
Johanna showed up not too much later, looking around a bit nervously before she caught sight of Brendan and gave a little wave.
Book under one arm and tote bag slung over the other shoulder, she made her way to his table and sat down her things before smiling... not that it was very noticeable with her scarf partially covering her face, but still.
"Hey Brendan, guess you beat me to it." she giggled a little. "And I thought I would have been too early."
"I guess so," she smiled. "I like to be on time as much as I can. Puntuality is important you know." As a good kid would always know!
Concerning the book, she placed a hand on it and nodded. "I'll always be carrying a book, or books." she giggled a little. "This one's about the writer's interpretation of what they thought the big legendaries from the region were feeling before, during and speculations about how they'd be feeling after his time since they repressented so much about the region."
"That sounds amazing," Brendan admitted. "How are you liking it so far? And do you mind if I borrow it when you're done? I'm assuming you put little marks or highlighted areas when you read books. I'd like to read yours and see why or where you focused on certain parts of the story."
Johanna clutched to her book and blushed. "I... I do, yes... I always write or doodle in my own books. It's always fun when I pick them up again, and then maybe redo more writings comparing what I thought then, to now and see if anything changed... It... It makes for really interesting introspectives...." Which is why she wasn't sure of letting someone see her notes just yet... Maybe with a bit more trust?
"IIIIIIII'll think on it," she finally responded with a sheepish smile and then a light laugh. "I can lend you my extra copy though! That way if we ever exchange notes, we can see what we each thought!"

"Oh, I see you brought a book!" He leaned over the table to get a better look at the title. "'The Heart of Sinnoh'? Wow, what's that about?"
